Meet Picking Up The Pieces

Counsellor-Psychotherapist-Megan Andrews-in-Truro-Falmouth-Cornwall-Picking up the Pieces

About Me- Experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Truro, Falmouth, & Online Across the UK

Having experienced significant life challenges and my own mental health struggles, I understand how easy it can be to hide behind the words, “I’m fine”, while silently coping with overwhelming emotions and difficulties. Following a severe mental health crisis that led to hospitalisation and a lengthy recovery, I made the life-changing decision to leave a successful career in the music and broadcasting industry. This experience inspired a new professional path dedicated to supporting others through their mental health journeys. For more than 25 years, I have worked in a variety of settings and roles extensively with individuals of all ages experiencing mental health challenges across the NHS, private, and voluntary sectors. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to ask for help, which is why I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and honestly.

As a fully qualified and registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist with The BACP and NCPS, I offer in-person counselling to individuals in Truro, Falmouth, and the surrounding areas. And online therapy throughout Cornwall, Devon, the UK, and internationally.

Support for a Wide Range of Mental Health Challenges

I work with individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety, stress, depression, and panic disorders
  • Trauma, PTSD
  • Self-esteem and confidence issues
  • Attachment and adjustment difficulties
  • Bereavement, grief, and loss
  • Self-harm and addictive behaviours
  • Emotional crisis and suicidal thoughts
  • Long-term and complex mental health conditions

With a wide range of knowledge supporting individuals with:

  • Cancer and chronic illness
  • Complex diagnoses and severe emotional distress
  • Disability and long-term health conditions
  • Infant loss and bereavement
  • Caring responsibilities and caregiver stress
  • Neurodiversity, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Learning difficulties and additional support needs

Counselling for Creative Professionals

I also have a specialist background working with professionals and students in the creative industries, including Musicians and performers, Actors and dancers, Artists and writers, Presenters and broadcasters, Filmmakers and production teams, Marketing and creative professionals,

along with Higher education and performing arts students. I understand the unique pressures, uncertainties, and emotional demands often associated with creative careers and lifestyles.

My Therapeutic Approach

My work is grounded in relational counselling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and a trauma-informed approach. This enables us to explore deeper emotional patterns while developing practical tools that support everyday wellbeing. Therapy can help you to:

  • Develop greater self-awareness and emotional well-being
  • Reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel lost or disconnected
  • Build healthy coping strategies and self-management skills
  • Improve confidence and resilience
  • Gain clarity, stability, and direction
  • Create lasting emotional and psychological change

At Pick Up The Pieces, you will find a professional, compassionate, and supportive service designed to help you regain stability, build resilience, and move forward with confidence. You do not have to face life's challenges alone. When you are ready, we are here to help.
